The Material — Where Every Piece Begins
I work with full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather from renowned Italian tanneries like Badalassi Carlo. Known as Pueblo leather, it begins with a matte, textured surface and evolves over time—smoothing, darkening, and developing a rich patina unique to each piece. Every cut and stitch is done by hand in New York, shaping leather that only gets better with age.

At Suwan Leather, every piece starts with intention — and with leather that deserves it.
I work exclusively with full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather, primarily sourced from renowned Italian tanneries like Badalassi Carlo (Pueblo leather), as well as select American hides. This type of leather is the highest grade available — untouched, uncorrected, and built to age with character rather than wear out.
Unlike mass-produced leather, Pueblo is known for its distinct matte texture, achieved through a unique finishing process that gives it a slightly rugged, almost suede-like surface. Over time, this texture transforms — smoothing out, darkening, and developing a deep, natural patina that reflects how the piece is used.
No two pieces age the same.
That’s the beauty of it.
Every cut, every stitch, and every edge is done by hand in my workshop in New York. I choose leathers not just for how they look on day one — but for how they evolve over months and years.
This is leather that tells a story.
And I simply shape the beginning of it.
Rust - Walnut and Cognac
Warm, classic, and grounded.
This full-grain vegetable-tanned Pueblo leather showcases rich brown tones with a natural pull-up effect that reveals depth and movement with every bend. The slightly textured matte surface gradually smooths out, developing a deep, rugged patina over time. It’s a timeless combination — designed for everyday use and built to look better with age.
Sage — Emerald & Olive
Calm and nature-inspired.
Blending deep emerald with muted olive tones, this Pueblo leather offers a quiet, organic presence. It starts with a slightly firm structure and a dry matte feel, then softens beautifully through use.As it ages, the surface gains subtle richness and depth, creating a refined yet grounded aesthetic inspired by the natural world.
Nebula — Violet & Burgundy
Bold and expressive.
A striking fusion of deep violet and burgundy tones gives this leather a dramatic, almost artistic character. The textured surface enhances its color depth, while the vegetable-tanned base ensures long-term durability. With time, the tones deepen and the surface gains a smoother finish, making each piece feel more personal and visually dynamic.
